Denied access to my unit after payment was made

I pay monthly rent to have my personal belongings stored at Affordable secure self storage in Lakeland, FL. This month I paid my storage rent late, paid on 9/15/2023, from which I paid a late fee of $15.00 added on to my monthly rent amount. I paid over the phone on 9/15/2023 @ 4:44 pm. I traveled from Cocoa, FL to Lakeland, FL the same date of payment. When I arrived, I was extremely disappointed to find that the facility still had their lock on my unit, which denied me access to my personal belongings. I paid my monthly rent, along with the late fee. Why didnﾃ｢竄ｬ邃｢t the storage facility take off their lock from my unit ???

Move in Summary

I was a bit taken back when u was first greeted at the door and ushered out. I didn't know a mask was required. He then got a mask for me and "calmed down". He did a thorough job of explaining everything. I personally don't understand why a round lock is required since the customer is responsible for any potential loss, but I "went with the flow".

Move in process - smooth

I was surprised the orig # I called wasn't the storage unit I thought I was calling. When I 1st went to the Stg facility, I was somewhat abruptly greeted & required to get back out of the office - they require a mask & I didn't know that. After he gave me a mask & I started the application process, things went smoothly.

Excellent service the manager was very helpful and personable. Had knowledge of all the products and only offered what he thought was a good fit

Mark Davis was Very helpful

Mr. Davis was Professional, courteously and when I became ill in his office, he helped me get to my car, offered me water and a chair and took me out to my family. Very, Very personable. Thank you Mark David, Facility Manager. Joyce McMillian

Very convenient and the price was right

The unit was clean I love the size and the manager Mark was very efficient he was able to tell me what I needed and we were done with the paperwork probably in about 15 minutes I think this is a good place for storage

Mike was very nice and helpful and he has a great attitude not only about his job but life in general the process to rent a unit took mins and affordable and that is very important to me as a single struggling mother

Just needed a small storage for my tools.

The attendant was well mannered. Mark was also very informative on all rules and details associated with the storage facility.

We encountered a problem, but Mark fixed that right away.

We had paid in advance for rental of our unit and had an appointment to pick up our keys. We were right on time, and were the only customers there, but had to wait a bit for Mark (the manager) to come out. He didn't seem very friendly the first time; neither warm, nor personable, even a bit argumentative. However, we thought that perhaps he was simply having a rough day. After we had signed the required forms, he pointed us to where our unit was, gave us the keys, and went back into his office. Upon examination of the unit, we saw a hole up in the corner of the ceiling, where sunlight was coming through. We also found a couple of cobwebs and a floor that had not been swept in a while. We had not brought any cleaning tools, so we reluctantly left our items there, locked up, and went home. The next day, we sent an email to Mark, expressing our displeasure with the unit. In less than an hour, he phoned us and told us he was terribly sorry and that he would move us to a nearby unit that he had just inspected. The following day, we went back to move our things to the second unit. This time, we took some cleaner, rags, a broom, and a dustpan. We admit that we are quite particular about a space being thoroughly clean. This second unit was in better condition, but we still spent perhaps 40 minutes bringing it up to our standards. That day, Mark behaved quite differently--very apologetic, professional, and friendly. We really appreciate that he corrected our situation quickly.

I move wayyy more than anyone should. This place is a little hidden but well worth looking. I got a great deal the salesman was very polite and took his time explaining everything. Completely no contact... Thanks for the help
