Rented a 2nd unit

Like the facility, but renting my 2nd unit i had to provide a copy of the homeowners policy for a 3rd time since the 2 times I sent it for the 1st unit it never got put on the record.

Good storage place

I like this storage facility, clean and the staff was helpful, however there are two things that need improvement: 1. The elevator door when you are loading should not be on a timer, otherwise it will be on a timeout and it will disable the elevator. Staff should have control to help the clients. 2. The access doors to the first floor are too small, making the moving very hard, it must be changed.

The on line application was very easy

Only complaint is there was no one at the office during regular business hours to assist me when I made a reservation. The staff went home early I presume. Other than that the place seems ok, and the price was really good.

office closed more often than not, otherwise great

While the whole system is based on being able to function without an help, it would still be most helpful if someone would be in the office, especially when you first sign up. However, the office is closed (why?) more often than not during business hours so that is where there is (a lot) of room for improvement.

First Impressions Suffer

I don't often leave bad reviews, but I have had a horrible experience with this facility. I set aside the day to move in and after standing at the elevator for 15 minutes waiting for it to come down a moving truck employee told me that they had timed out the elevator unit by propping the door for too long and now neither of the elevators were working. Things happen and I understand that, but the attendant at the facility knew of the issue and did not put a sign out to let people know. Then when I saw her she said that she would call me when the issue was resolved. I never received a call. When moving stuff you set aside time and when you can't do the work everything is delayed. I cannot support anyone deciding to use this facility and I will likely cancel and use another facility in the area. I still have not been able to move in 5 days later because my weekend day set aside was OBE. No one has contacted me to make this right and I have not even installed the lock yet.

Great deal & space

I booked a great deal for my 5 x 9 unit on Sparefoot. I spoke with the store manager at Life Storage Chantilly, Shahana, who was very sweet and answered all my questions. The facility is very clean, well laid out, and climate controlled. My only complaint was that I was told I HAD to purchase their lock, which was $20. When I got up to my unit, I saw plenty of units locked up with the $6.99 locks you can buy on Amazon. That left a bit of a sour taste in my mouth, because I specifically asked if I could use my lock and was told I couldn't.
