Easy renting

I had to get a storage unit fast I was in a bad relationship and had to get out and it was super easy to rent online and easy to get into the storage unit..I was very happy to be able to move my stuff into the storage unit same day!

I just want to say, the online application was simple and clear, no confuresion navigating their rental plateform. Reservations can be made with no down payment up front and no hassle cansolations as well. If you want you can select, reserve, pay all at once in under 10 minutes online. That is, if you already know what size unit you need. I was able to move in all in the same morning. There is tight security with the office right next to the keypad controlled front gate. Cameras everywhere and the staff are so helpful and understanding. The grounds where spotless concrete covered and rain drainage throughout. I was super impressed with every aspect of the business and how easy it was to get in. I only needed to stop by the office to show valid ID, payment receipt, get my personal gate code and I was able to use my car insurance card for residency. I have used a handful of self store units in my life. This by far was the cheapest, easiest, fastest, no hassle engagement ever! I found myself smiling when i found my unit Number. Great customer service and process to rent was so easy!

I saved my extra room on this site, and it was speedy and simple. Andthe point when I got there, the on location desk work was under a page. The partner working that day was speedy and supportive. I'm entirely glad to keep my assets there while my life is experiencing significant change.

Great little find for storage

I rented online and got a second month free deal. I even filled out the paperwork online and was sent my gate code by email too. Drove there and entered the code, it worked and went to my unit and put my lock on. Sooooo simple and didn’t even have to see a person although that was not the goal. Bittersweet on the admin fee since I did half their job for them online. Lol. I am not new to the storage unit world so this was a relief without all the extra paperwork and “requirements” used to get extra money at those other places.

Rental Process

I called to reserve a unit on line. The person I spoke to was very helpful and friendly. The process was simple. I was given clear and precise instructions on how to enter and exit. Now to get everything moved in!

Clean and courteous

I reserved my storage space on this website, and doing that was quick and easy. When I got the actual location, the onsite paperwork was less than a page. The associate on site that day was quick and helpful. I would have liked more upfront instruction though. I'd never rented before and it would have been nice to know how to open the gate on my way out or that I needed to provide my own lock. Even still, I'm perfectly happy to keep my possessions there while my life is in transition.

Sale price was a good deal

Storage unit was clean, could be a little more spacious. But for the sale price it was a good offer

I have been renting here since last year and I have never done this before but I am in the process of gathering things to move in a few months, I went in and the man in the office was very nice and helpful and really helped me with what all everything was and explaining everything. I would recommend this place to everyone, its clean and I trust my things there.

I was pleased wit our rate since we were able to get a special discount for a 3 month agreement that was less than originally quoted. However, wecould not apply this rate to the current month (the last week of July) so I had a load of items that I had to take home and wait a week to store. It seemed silly to me that I could not apply the special rate that day - you have an empty unit with my name on it and passed up $28. bucks for me to have it for the week.

TWO price increases in less than one year

I had my first price increase only a few months into renting, and this last increase was 12%! They don't tell you this when you sign, of course. Also, my rent is supposed to pay for the gated feature, but I have driven to the site at night to see the gate up for no apparent reason on a handful of occasions. I called to report this but they don't seem to care. They've also messed up my auto payments more than once, which was a pain. They charged me TWICE a few months ago, and it took several days for the credit to hit my bank account. The only good thing I have to say about Milford Self Storage is that it's clean. Move with caution, they start increasing your rates fairly soon, and with no explanation. I'm moving my possessions next month. That's what speaks to these owners - empty units!

Overpriced, NOT as "secure" as advertised

I couldn't agree more with Reginald Denney's review. In less than one year I have experienced TWO price increases, the last being 12%. ??? They did this simultaneously with suddenly demanding documented proof of property insurance. My guess is that both are reactions to possibly having a sizeable liability judgment against them. My ins. agent agreed that it sounded like a possibility. (But why punish the rest of us???) If this is the case, it certainly wouldn't surprise me, as there have been MANY times I've driven by to see the gate all the way up with no customers triggering it! I reported this on a couple occasions but it keeps happening. Isn't this why we're paying more, for gated security?? I have also experienced failed attempts to run my credit card, followed by an apology for having to call about it. The best thing I have to say about Milford Self-Storage is that it's very clean. I don't plan to stay at this facility much longer.

Very misleading pricing

They have twice raised the rental fee unannounced in the past year (25% and 15% respectively). Their payment collections are also very unreliable. If you do not pay on the first of the month, you will be locked out on the second - however when paying by card the funds will not be withdrawn from your bank account for up to TWO WEEKS sometimes, which can cause much confusion and overdraft fees. When questioned about the rent increases, both times I was told they were due to "yearly increases", however I have just now been storing there for one year. The owner obviously just makes up the prices to fit his desires without regard to the contract. I have filed with the BBB and I suggest anyone else with these issues to do the same.
